Youth Chance High School 30th Anniversary Gala
Wednesday, May 13, 2009 from 6 pm - 8 p.m. (PT) San Francisco, CA
Please join us to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Youth Chance High School (YCHS)—a San Francisco tradition. YCHS is a non-tuition, private school operated by the Embarcadero YMCA. Thousands of San Francisco teens have benefited from this program to achieve educational and vocational goals that enrich the rest of their lives. YCHS focuses upon youths, aged 16-21, who have been referred by school principals, social workers, friends, and probation officers, to provide an environment in which they can learn and succeed.
Help us commemorate our past and affirm our future at this tribute to all who have worked to make Youth Chance High School one of the most important alternatives in San Francisco for underserved youth.
Please join us for a fun and inspiring celebration! Tickets are $75.00/each for an evening of delicious appetizers, cocktails, a YCHS student-led program, a silent auction, jazz music and entertainment. Proceeds from the event and auction will directly benefit the YCHS program and the underserved youth in San Francisco. Your generous support is greatly appreciated.

Youth Chance High School, a program of the Embarcadero YMCA offers San Francisco Youth a fresh chance at a private non-tuition high school. Students aged 16 - 21 who have dropped out of public schools gain skills to earn their high school diploma or pass the GED or CHSPE exam.
Aside from studying core academic subjects, elective courses include daily physical fitness/aquatics, film and digital storytelling, Youth Council, Leadership, Employment Readiness Training and art. Students who complete the program leave with a portfolio that demonstrates their competencies, talents and achievements--to better market themselves for future success in following their dreams.
At the heart of Youth Chance High School is the fundamental belief that all students can achieve whatever they conceive as long as they believe in themselves. The program develops the whole student by encouraging and teaching skills that enhance the spirit, mind and body.
